The village of El Borge is situated 237 metres above sea level, 28 kilometres from Malaga and 24 kilometres from Velez-Malaga. The site on which the village stands is rugged, its houses built on the sides of the valley of the River Borge. The streets rise up steeply, with steps in many places. The village church dates back to the 16th century. The village is situated between the villages of Almachar and Cutar. There are a number of shops, a hotel/restaurant and a bird park in the village.
