The municple area of Sedella is bounded by the River Rubite, a tributary of the River Vélez, and the border with Granada Province. Streams from numerous springs in the nearby Tejeda and Almijara sierras irrigate the land, a hilly area where olives, almonds and grapes and the usual crops grown. The village is 62 kilometres from Málaga and 32 kilometres from Vélez Málaga. The population is around 1,000 people. The narrow winding streets of Sedella are flanked by white washed houses. The most important monument in the village is the Casa Torreón which was formerly the residence of the mayor. The village of Sedella stands at a height of 689 metres above sea level.
